Obituary for Velma Aileen Schoch (Woods)
SCHOCH Velma (nee Woods)
March 1, 1930 to February 6, 2021.
Passed away peacefully in her Hillsdale Terrace residence, Oshawa Ontario. Beloved wife of 66 years of Arnold Schoch, and dear loving mother to the late Wanda (Wyman). Cherished and caring grandmother to her “Nana’s boys”, Christopher Wyman of Ottawa and Joshua (Hailey) Wyman of Mount Albert. Predeceased by sisters Minerva Armstrong and Arminta Hynes, predeceased by brothers Arnott, Russell and Joseph Woods.
After growing up and working in the farming region around Shawville Quebec, Velma and Arnold moved to Sudbury, where they lived for over 45 years. In their later years they moved to Oshawa and lived close to their daughter “Wandy” and her family. The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Hillsdale Terrace for their very special care.
Resting at Armstrong Funeral Home in Oshawa, 124 King Street East (905) 433-4711. The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday February 13, 2021 at 11:00 am (Covid 19 restrictions). Interment at Thornton Cemetery Oshawa.
