I Thought Of You Today

We would like to again thank the nurses, personal care workers and staff at Lakeside Retirement at Innisfil.  Mum was comfortable here and always felt safe.

Mum was a fun loving and caring mother four, grand mother to nine, great grandmother to six and friend to many.

When her first husband died, after 21 years of marriage; my Mum remarried a year later.  Her second husband; who had a family of four girls, died suddenly after only 3 years marriage; leaving Mum to raise her second family, including a baby of just over three years of age.  I think that baby Bev kept my mother young.  Somehow, she always looked much younger than her years, even into her 80's.  She was remarkable.

Mum was strong willed, always stayed positive and was an inspiration to all.  She never lost her gentle, playful sense of humuor and her wonderful smile.

I'd like to finish with a poem, if I may.

I Thought Of You Today

I thought of you with love today

but that is nothing new.

I thought about you yesterday

and days before that too.

I think of you in silence

I often speak your name.

All I have are memories

and your picture in a frame.

Your memory is my keepsake

with which I'll never part.

God has you in his keeping

I have you in my heart.
