I knew Merle first from 80's at the Variety Store .A true genteman. Also as a neighbour .Always with a smile  I did some volunteer work at the hall and even though Merle was always on the run working ,he would always stop and say hello and then said ,"have you heard this one " of course a joke  ,with that smile of his .  Merle will be missed Zennia. Your husband left very fond memories with so many people .
