Condolence: I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Jack while we were officers at 53 Division. He was a gentleman and always did the right thing. He was a proud Canadian but a prouder Scot. He was always proud to don his band uniform and represent his culture. Jack has moved on and I hope he got to take his drum with him and play alongside the piper on the path to heaven. Sleep peacefully my friend

Condolence: Tony, Jacqueline and I are truly saddened to hear of Jack's passing, and our hearts and prayers are with Jeanette, Kirsty, Fiona and their entire families during this very sad time. I will always have many fond memories of Jack, having first met him and Jeanette when my family moved into the other half of the semi-detatched house on Muir Crescent in Whitby, numbers 36 and 38. This was more than 30 years ago, before Kirsty and Fiona were born! For many years we all had great fun together, along with Allison, Bob and their Mob, and Jan and Chris. I cannot recall a time seeing Jack without a smile and an enthusiastic "Hello Ellie! How ya doin? Ya alright?" in his thick Scottish accent. That is my favourite fond memory of Jack. Rest in Peace and God Bless.

Condolence: I have had the pleasure of knowing the Wield family for over 26 years, as a snotty 2 year old attending Fiona’s 5th birthday party. Fiona and I were pretty much inseparable growing up and so I spent a lot of time at their house, just a few doors down from where I lived. Every time I walked through their door, there was “Papa Wield” with his warm smile ready to get me anything my little heart desired. Never did he fail to ask how every member of my family was doing, not for the sake of small talk, but because he genuinely cared. I have to admit it took me a few years to be able to understand his speedy Scottish accent, but I got the hang of it eventually! Never have I met a man more caring, selfless and compassionate for his family and friends. I am so thankful for having known him, and for all of the great memories that I have to remember him by. The neighbourhood will never be the same without him, and my family has lost a dear friend.

Condolence: A Gentleman in its truest form. I have never met someone who was as welcoming and considerate as Mr.Wield. Knowing Kirsty for almost 20 years gave me wonderful opportunities to interact with such a wonderful family. I was heartbroken to hear of Mr.Wield's battle and even more devastated to hear of his passing. I am thankful to have had the pleasure of knowing such an amazing man. Condolence From: Lesley Hawke
Condolence: I wanted to let the Wield Family know how deeply sorry I am to hear of the passing of such a wonderful, kind, caring, thoughtful man such as Jack. Being close friends with Kirsty since we were 8 years old, has allowed me the pleasure of spending lots of time at the Wield household and being around such a loving family. Memories of being around the Wields while Jack competed in the pipe and drum competitions and Fiona and I competing in highland dancing and Kirsty and Chris' wedding will forever be highlights in my mind of being around such a lovely presence. Jack will be greatly missed as he truly is an incredible man and has endured so much. Sending all our love from Calgary Alberta Lesley, Rob, Linnea and Hayla Hawke, Ingrid, Keith and Kyle Maybury.xo
