Obituary for Alan R. Harvey

HARVEY, Alan R.

December 1, 1956 – June 23, 2022

A truly wonderful, hardworking, thoughtful, lovely, gentleman passed away peacefully at 65 years of age on Thursday, June 23rd, 2022 marking 25 years of devotion to his dear spouse, best friend, and soulmate, Margo.

Beloved son of the late Douglas and Margaret Cherished nephew of the late Ann Fisher Kind brother of Ian (Janet) and the late Douglas Jr. Loving uncle of Morag Waller (John) and Graham (Beulah)

Alan will be sadly missed by his many Canadian, Scottish, and American friends.

After graduating college and finishing his apprenticeship as a tool and die maker in Scotland, Alan immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, where he practiced his skilled trade for five years before moving to Oshawa, Ontario, to continue as a respected tool and die maker for thirty years at GM Canada. He retired in 2015.

Alan will be remembered for his dedication to his skilled trade, his enthusiasm for travel, his love of the outdoors, his selflessness, and his fun-loving personality.

A special thank you to all of the health teams at Lakeridge Hospital, Oshawa, for their outstanding care and consideration.

A Memorial Celebration of Alan’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, from 1pm to 3pm with a tribute to Alan beginning at 2pm at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa, ON
