Condolences

Condolence From: Mary & Pat Gartlan
Condolence: Our families met when we first moved to Oshawa about 50 years ago through the close-knit Hungarian community in Oshawa. Acquaintance quickly lead to family friendship.I will always remember your joking, broad smiles, and the laughter with which you always greeted me with, from a little girl, to present day. I will think of you with fondness, and remember the kindness I saw in your eyes. May you rest in peace, finally free from pain.

Condolence From: Edward "Eddy" Swynar
Condolence: I had occasion to come to know Andy when I was transferred to his department of Building Maintenance in the Oshawa Truck Plant, back in the summer/autumn of 1982...

I was just a rookie line supervisor at the time, barely 30 years old, with a grand total of some 6 years of experience under my belt --- yet Andy always had the time to share his sage advice, and to pass his experiences onto me, which I found most comforting and reassuring on so many occasions.

It was most gratifying, in more than one instance, as well, to see Andy roaring up toward me in his yellow lift truck --- I knew that help was surely on-hand for whatever plant issue may have ailed me at the time.

As we used to say 35 years ago at the end of our shift, Andy, "...Have a good night --- see you next time!"

My heartfelt condolences to those who were close to Andy...
