I was just sitting here in front of the computer scanning the on-line obituaries for wont of something better to do, when I took note of the passing of your mother…
You have my deepest of sympathy in your loss.
But the notice also served to bring back a flood of some fond memories for me, as I was instantly transported back to the summer of 1974, driving you and another girl --- whose name escapes me just now ("Irene," maybe…?) --- to the G.M. Parts & Service building in my flashy(!) white car-pooling 1969 Beaumont. I also recall your father ("George"), with whom I had some contact with, working in the Plant #2 Trim & Hardware Body Plant in the 1980's: he was, as I recall, with material handling, and proved to be very helpful in the execution of some of my work there.
I trust that the interceding years have been good to you, and that the coming ones will be as equally satisfying…
