Moryc, Chester

Passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, April 17, 2023 at his home in Waterloo, at the age of 82. Predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara and his son Jarek. Devoted father of Greg (Dorothy). Cherished grandfather of Kacper, Weronika, Izzy, and Alex and great-grandfather of Maks. Dear brother of Roman and brother-in-law of Krystyna, Hanna, and Izabela. Predeceased by his brothers Kazik and Waldek.

Chester was born and raised in Poland, where he worked as a professional truck driver, including driving bucket trucks for the hydro company. He immigrated to Canada in the late 1970s, settled with his family and made many friends in Oshawa. Chester became very skilled in construction and had the “golden touch” with all final finishing repairs. After retirement, together with his wife, he moved to Waterloo to be closer to his son and his family. He loved cooking and took joy in making meals for the grandchildren as well as being an avid gardener. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 2-4 & 6:30-8:30 p.m. with prayers at 7 p.m. at Armstrong Funeral Home (124 King St. E., Oshawa). A Funeral Mass in Polish will be held on Monday, April 24,, 2023 at 10 a.m. at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, which can be viewed by clicking the Live button on the church’s YouTube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/@st.hedwigparishoshawa8333. Interment Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
