Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 25th, 2021 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Beloved husband of Cora for 53 wonderful years. Loving father of Carol (Trevor) and Barry (Janya). Cherished Popa of Finn and Caislin. Predeceased by his sister Patricia. Eamonn will be sadly missed by all his family and friends in Canada and Ireland.
Eamonn was born in Dublin, Ireland on November 20th, 1943. A few days after marrying Cora in 1968, they immigrated to Canada, where they raised their family. He dedicated his working life to his career at Texaco as an Auditor and at the Toronto Star as a Journalist. One of his favourite stories to write about was horse racing, as it allowed him to attend the sport that he loved. Eamonn was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus as well as the Officers’ Mess.
A Private Family Memorial Mass will be held at St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Lakeridge Health Foundation or the Ontario Regiment Foundation. Online condolences may be left at www.armstrongfh.ca
