Obituary for Frank Reilly

REILLY, Frank
Francis Joseph Reilly passed away in London, Ontario on Oct.22, 2021 after a long and debilitating illness. He was born in England on Apr. 12, 1926 to Edith Laceby and Edward Reilly and was the youngest of five children. Frank is survived by his cherished partner of more than 20 years, Deana Wright. He was predeceased by his first wife of more than 40 years, Philomena (Hanify), and is survived by their children Christopher, Paul and Monica, their grandchildren Lisa, Amanda, Heather, Kristen (&Elliott), Sabrina, Connor, Kathleen (&Iain), and great grandchildren Stephano, Kayla and Quinn. He is also survived by nieces and a nephew.
Frank was a British veteran of World War II, in the East Surrey Regiment, Rifle Brigade, Maritime RA and was wounded in action. He spent 3 years in hospital in London, England where he met his first wife. In 1955 he emigrated to Canada with his family where he worked for many years in the publishing industry.
Frank enjoyed golf, perfectly crisp roast potatoes and Battenberg cake with a hot cup of tea. He will be remembered for his undaunted energy, witty puns, optimism, and refusal to be limited by his injuries.
There will be a visitation and services starting at 11 AM on Friday November 5 at Armstrong Funeral Home at 124 King St East, Oshawa, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Ontario, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
