Peacefully passed away at his home on Friday, March 1, 2024, in his 100th year.
Beloved husband of the late Marion (2022). Loving father of Elizabeth, Philip (Terri) and Kevin (Jo-Anne). Dear Poppa of Fiona, Norah, Jesse, Caitlyn, Patrick, Chad and Kaila and Great-Poppa of Lawson, Evelyn, Diana, William and Beau. Caring brother of Stan (Darlene) and Irma (Ron). Predeceased by his siblings John (Mary), Al (Isabelle), and Isla (Henry).
George was a man that lived his faith every day of his life, whether it was building over 500 bicycles to be sent to third world countries, stopping to help someone in need on the side of the road, or always willing to help fix cars.
He loved life, every moment was cherished and he saw the beauty in everything.
George was a proud member of St. Mary of the People Catholic Church for many years.
He retired from General Motors after 33.7 years of dedicated service.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Armstrong Funeral Home (124 King St. E., Oshawa). A Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 1 p.m. at St. Mary of the People Catholic Church. Interment Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
