Graziella Vander Baaren
July 31, 1969 – July 20, 2019
After a long battle with cancer, Graziella Vander Baaren (nee Garofalo) passed away peacefully on July 20, 2019 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Born in Kingston Ontario to her parents John and Maria Garofalo on July 31st, 1969. Wife of Tony, and loving mother to Justin, and his wife Valerie, Samuel, John and Veronica. Lovingly remembered by her brother and sister Francesco (Michelle) and Phillis Kelly. Fondly remembered by her many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
As original owners of snapd Oshawa and snapd Whitby, Graziella, along with Tony, were able to share over 24,000 local positive events in their areas. Serving as a Chairperson on snapd’s Franchise Advisory Board for many years, she helped influence the growth of the company and many of her ideas are still used today in snapds across Canada. Graziella was also a proud recipient of the Small Business award presented by the Oshawa Chamber of Commerce in 2006. In the short time that she was in Oshawa, she made many friends, enjoyed attending a multitude of events, taking photos and contributing to a better place to live and raise a family. Her grace, spirit and strength will resonate throughout this community for years to come.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Armstrong Funeral Home at 124 King St E., Oshawa, ON from 4pm to 7pm. As well as in her hometown of Kingston at James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass to be held on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 11am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 490 Days Road, Kingston, ON and follow by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery at 718 Division Street, Kingston, ON.
To fulfill Graziella’s wishes, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory can be made to St. Gertrude’s Parish in Oshawa and /or Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Kingston.
