Obituary for Irene A. Nisbet

It is with heartfelt sorrow that the family of Irene A. Nisbet (nee Bino) announces her peaceful passing at home on June 25, 2023, with her daughters by her side. Irene was in her 93rd year. Devoted daughter of the late Irene (nee Papp) and Anthony Bino.

Beloved wife of the late Thomas A. Nisbet. Cherished mother of Catharine (Douglas) and Susan (Michael). The best-ever Grandma/Nana to Courtney, Mitchell, William, and Sarah. Irene was enchanted by her two great grand-daughters, Julia and Emily who fondly called her n’other Gramma. She will be dearly missed by her sister Judy (late Alfred) and brothers Robert (Rita) and Richard (Marion). Irene will, forever, remain in the hearts of many.

Irene often spoke fondly of her time working at the Oshawa GM offices along-side her many life-long friends. Her knitting club family weathered through the decades with monthly meetings that, in the end, had absolutely nothing to do with knitting. At every opportunity she cooked up a storm for her family. Her famous, tried, and true, recipes have become family traditions to be passed down for generations to come. Irene was also a devoted skating mom as figure skating was a family affair.

Her love of angels was well known, and many contributed to her world-wide collection. Irene will rest in peace among the real angels.

A private Interment will take place at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Whitby.
