John Westrik passed away on April 10, 2023 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Maria “Rie” and predeceased by his first wife Irene. Loving father of Rick Westrik, Marianne Nicols (Phil), John Westrik (Gloria), and Valerie Cain (Richard) and step-father of Arie Kuijper (Marinda), Riny Reesinck (Etienne) and the late Tiny. John is a cherished grandfather and great-grandfather to many grandchildren. Dear brother of Gerda and Joke and predeceased by siblings Bertha and Ria.
John was a proud Canadian with Dutch heritage. After 33 years of dedicated and outstanding service at GM, he enjoyed his well-deserved retirement by working in his yard, working on his computer, and whipping up his daily strawberry milkshakes. Most of all, John enjoyed spending time with his family.
He will be held close in our hearts, always loved, and never forgotten.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. at Armstrong Funeral Home (124 King St. E., Oshawa). A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. A livestream link will be made available. Interment Thornton Cemetery.
