Obituary for Kenneth Reginald Durno

Kenneth Reginald Durno 1931- 2024

Passing peacefully at home on April 2, 2024 in his 93rd year after a short battle with cancer, which he fought with great Scottish determination. He left this earth surrounded by his loving wife of 65 years Mary and devoted daughters Keri-Lee Durno and Noel Coppins (Dave). Grandfather to Boston Coppins (Jaide) and Hunter Coppins, Great Grandfather to Brexley Coppins.

A life faithful to his family and lived with a passion for physical activity and hard work, he was loved by his family, neighbours and friends, and the myriad of people he helped selflessly throughout his life with his generosity and kindness.

A doting grandfather and great grandfather, his new great grandson was the delight of his final days.

Supported tirelessly by his eldest daughter Keri-Lee, he enjoyed his senior years in his own home and was able to maintain his independence right until the end, something he was fiercely proud of.

He is resting in the arms of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ now.

Special thanks to the incredible care of Nurse Melissa and Nurse Practitioner Sondra of Community Care, and the outstanding paramedics, ER staff, nurses and doctors at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hearth Place Cancer Centre would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Arrangements entrusted to Armstrong Funeral Home.
