We are all saddened by your passing. You gave us encouragement through your determination in everything you did. You fought against corruption on your island home. For family's sake you left with courage in the dead of night to escape to a new world. You searched and found a new life in Canada. You worked hard and attended to your family's needs. After retirement you returned to your island home to complete what you started long ago.

Dear Aunt Letizia you went through many trials, but now your efforts are at an end. Let your soul rest. Many your family be proud of what you've achieved.

"Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!"
Revelation 14:13, KJV

I owe to aunt Letizia my prettiest outfits when I was a child. She knew how to make me look fashionable, and even elegant
- within our modest means -, thanks to her intelligence, imagination, and creativity.
She had the highest respect for formal education and excused herself again and again for not having received one.
But she made up by always being receptive to learning; she never stopped struggling with the difficulties of the English language. Even if her memory failed her sometimes with the English vocabulary, I could always depend on her for facts relating to our family history. She knew everyone's birthday, marriage connections, children's names.
Her kindness, courage, spirit, devotion are a daily inspiration for me.
