With heartfelt sorrow the family of Margaret Shermeto announces her passing on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Champlain Manor, Orillia, at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Henry Shermeto (2007). Loving and devoted mother of Jim (Kathy), Stephen (Angie), Michael (Anna), Dennis (Liz). Adored grandmother of Laura and Emily; Sarah and TJ; Bob, Andrew, Alexandra and Ryan; Gregory, Bradley and Nikolas Henry and great grandmother to Penelope, Owen, Leo & Mia.
Margaret enjoyed many activities during her lifetime. She was an enthusiastic gardener and an avid knitter; she enjoyed afternoon swims in the lake, walks with friends, and baking cookies and tarts for her family - especially for her grandchildren. Margaret and Henry wintered in Arizona for many years and enjoyed summers at their home on Lake Simcoe. Margaret will also be dearly missed by her siblings and her large extended family and her neighbours on Lake Simcoe. A heartfelt thank you to Bill and Marg Geisberger for all their love and the support they have provided Margaret since Henry's passing. Margaret will be in all our hearts forever.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2023 from 11 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Armstrong Funeral Home (124 King Street East, Oshawa). A Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario. Condolences may be shared at www.armstrongfh.ca
