Mary Fanning (May) passed away at Lakeridge Health in Oshawa surrounded by her family on January 12th, 2024. Mary was 79 years of age and leaves behind her husband Martin Fanning.

Mary was a loving mother of two sons, Terence and Michael and their wives Susan and Andrea. Mary was beloved by her four grandchildren Sarah, Alex, Michael and Kieran. Mary will be remembered by her brother Michael May.

Mary was kind, loving and cheerful to all those who knew her and all those who knew her loved her deeply. Mary came to Canada from Dublin, Ireland with her husband Martin and their son Terence in 1971. Her second son Michael was born soon after and Martin and Mary raised their family in Canada.

Mary spent most of her working life as a Pharmacist Assistant before retiring.

A Celebration of Mary’s life will be held at Armstrong Funeral Home in Oshawa on Friday, January 19th with a visitation at 1pm and a service at 2pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mary’s life.

Mary’s ashes will be taken on a final trip home and she will be laid to rest at Glasnevin Cemetery in Dublin, Ireland.
