Passed away peacefully, on her own terms, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on October 9, 2023, at the age of 87.
Cherished Baba of Morgan, Zak, and Matthew. Loving mother of Sandra (Paul) and Joanne. Dear sister of Ken. Predeceased by her husband John, her parents Nick & Vera Kornic, her siblings Tim, Alec, John, Betty, Nick, and Marion and her beloved uncle John Redko.
Nydia will be fondly remembered by Janine, Helen and the girls, Jan, and Bill and her neighbours Carl, Harvey, Sarah, Chris, John, Cheryl, and Lisa and many other family members.
Nydia was a proud graduate of Ritson Road Public School. After graduation, she worked for over 30 years at Duplate and was a dedicated union member of Local 222. She was feisty and truly enjoyed feeding all the wildlife on her street.
As per her wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to an animal rescue of your choice. Online condolences may be shared at www.armstrongfh.ca
