Obituary for Olga Burnat

Burnat, Olga (1935 -2020)
Olga passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 85 on Saturday December 5, 2020.
Beloved wife of the late Volodomyr (Walter) (2008).
Loving mother of Mary Bosworth (Richard) and Walter S. Burnat (Cathy).
Olga was so very proud of her family, especially her grandchildren Julya Campbell (Doug), Charles Bosworh (Nancy) and Christopher Bosworth (Stephanie) and her great grandsons Cameron, Mason, Aidan, Caleb, Sullivan and little Christopher (CJ).
Olga is survived by her sister Jane Tayler (Bob) and her brother Monu Wozny (Karen). She loved all her nieces and nephews Rob (Shannon), Nadine (Brett), Matt (Lori), Michael, Monique, Johnny, Melissa and all her great nieces and nephews.
Olga never forgot her family in Ukraine and taught us that it was very important that we never forgot where our roots came from.
Olga arrived in Oshawa with her family in 1949 from Horodnycia, Ukraine. Here she met her husband and they soon married and settled into the Ukrainian community. She was proud of her Ukrainian Heritage and became very active in the community. She made pyroghy at the parish hall and was one of the few ladies who could pick up a tune, put words to it and sing to her hearts content. She was a parish sister (systrychia)at St. Geroges's Ukrainian Catholic Church and attended to all of the decorating of all church festivities. She won an award from the Ministry of Citizenship as most outstanding volunteer. She was curious and had a great sense of humor. She was a perfectionist and determined in all aspects of her life. It was her strong faith in God that kept her alive and active. She taught us to love each other. But most of all her love was unconditional.
Mamma, although a tear will drop every time we think of you we will be consoled knowing that you are now resting in the arms of our Lord. We will miss you dearly but your love will live with us forever.
Visitation will be held on Sunday December 6th from 5pm to 7pm with Panachyda at 6pm. A Funeral Service will be held at St. George the Great Martyr Ukrainian Catholic Church on Monday December 7th at 11am, followed by interment at St. Wolodymyr & St. Olha Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Georges Parish would be appreciated by the family. Masks, social distancing and registration are mandatory and required to attend the services.
