June was one of the kindest, compassionate people I've ever known. I met her the year my son Alex started school. Charlotte and Alex were close pals and would spend time playing at each other's homes. June was so kind to Alex and she picked him up for me in a desperate time of need. She was sweet to Alex's little sister, Megan and welcomed her to play with the Timperley kids also. I'll never forget her smile, easy laugh and friendship. Hearing of her passing shocked and saddened me and I am a better person for having known her and her family. My sincerest, heartfelt condolences to all the Timperleys.

Though I can not be there, know that you are all in my heart and prayers. I won't hear your stories or memories of the wonderful person brimming with life and love. Rowena June is my one-year-younger little sister and for the first years of my life, I would have to find the colored thread on every single piece of underware, socks, school blouse, skirts, bags since June had a different color. We shared schools, same swimming lessons, same first job- McDonalds, and same ogres aka piano teachers. But June was never a follower. she was a bright shining light, fearless and full of love.
She was inseparable from her 2 school best friends. They sat together in classes and caused a giggle or chortle from the teacher at roll call.....June and her best friends, April and May. In High school, June was captain of the debating team, starter for the volleyball team and friend to prom queens and wallflowers alike. I hid in the library trying not to be recruited to fill in for her teams....I just did not have little sister's talents.
When she was first diagnosed with progressive loss of hearing, June tried to coach me through frustrating lessons in sign language; "so we can talk" she said. Luckily the loss was confined to one ear...which caused her to look away from the road while driving a car. Scary.
When my son was diagnosed with autism at 2yo and Mom's best advice was to ignore the doctors. I said, "This is not part of the plan. Not part of the dream." June said, "so change the plan. change the dream". That has been the best advice I had heard.
June and I spent 2 hours on the phone one day-- she in a hospital with a nurse krachitt; me at the baseball field waiting for my Riley's game--- June told me of how proud she was of her beautiful daughters, her amazing son, and her wonderful grandson. She talked of their dreams, their hopes, their accomplishments, their boyfriends and girlfriend and how blessed she was to have them in her life.
June, you will be missed and on your birthday....June 1st, who can forget,....I will hear your name called with the rosary celebration at St Bernard's and remember my little sister, companion of my youth.
