Passed away, with family by his side, on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Ross Memorial Hospital, at the age of 91.
Loving husband of Anne for 71 years. Caring father of Sharon (Dave), the late Debbie, Donna, Annette (Dave), Lynn (Dave), and Bernie (Danielle). Cherished grandfather of Andrew (Megan), Carlene (Tony), Leesa (Brad), Craig, Brittany (Mike), Jennifer, Yvette, Erika, and Charlotte and great-grandfather of Maya, Felix, and Rory.
Bernie was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia and proud of his heritage. He lived a long and wonderful life with his beloved family.
He was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending his time playing cards, darts, and skating with friends.
He retired after many years as a Steamfitter for UA Local 46.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 10-11 am at Armstrong Funeral Home (124 King St. E., Oshawa). A Memorial Service will follow in the Chapel at 11 am.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society, Canadian Cancer Society, or Down Syndrome Association of Ontario. Online condolences may be shared at www.armstrongfh.ca
