Life Story for Alan Richard Mason Corbett

CORBETT, Alan Richard Mason – Passed away peacefully on Friday December 28th, 2007 at Sunnycrest Nursing Home following a short battle with cancer. Alan was in his 82nd year. Dear brother of Albert “Bud” (Ann) Corbett and brother in law to Jane Corbett. Predeceased by William “Bill” Corbett and Margaret and her husband Ray Stephenson. Beloved uncle to Bob (Kris) Corbett, Bill Jr. (Susan) Corbett, Rick (Maggie) Corbett, Scott (Vickie) Corbett, Patty (John) Fulford, Susan (Perry) Edwards, Peter (Carolyn) Stephenson, Michael (Nancy) Stephenson, Scott (Nancy) Stephenson and Mary Leah Tyndal. Fondly remembered by close friends Bill and Dorena Thompson, David Thompson, Catherine Thompson and Commander Bob Thompson of the Canadian Navy in Halifax. Alan was an avid sailor for many years and had sailed from Lake Ontario to the Caribbean on a few occasions to further enjoy the romance of the water. Born in Belleville, he became a Chartered Accountant, first working at Pedlar People which was located on Simcoe Street South in Oshawa, before moving on to various accounting positions in Toronto with General Steel Wares, Clartone Corporation and Wicks Filters. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday December 31st, 2007 at 1pm. Cremation. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Memorial donations the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
