RUSSO ,ANNUNZIATA “NANCY” (nee Savinelli)-Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family as God called her home at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Thursday December 15, 2016 at age 82. Beloved wife of the late Antonio Russo .Beloved mother of the late Luigi (Gino) Russo , Susan Harnish and her late husband Shane, Rosario Russo and his wife Terhi.Loving Nonna of Matteo, Aliyah , Mia, Nicholas and Gino.Nancy will be fondly remembered by her many loving nieces, nephews and their families in both Canada and Italy as well as her many good friends .Nancy’s family would like to extend a special thank you and much gratitude to her nieces, Antonietta (Toni) Formosa of Oshawa, who has always been there for Nancy, and Roberta Varesco, who recently travelled from Italy to stay with Nancy while she was still well enough to enjoy her nieces company. She is survived by her sisters Titina Savinelli, Lidia Varesco (Savinelli) and brothers, Antonio Savinelli, Eliseo Savinelli and Enzo Savinelli, all of Italy. Predeceased by her sister, Rosaria Sardagna , brother Clemente Savinelli, son-in-law, Shane Harnish, sister-in-law Olimpia Cernigoi (Russo) and her late husband Egidio Cernigoi . Nancy’s family would like to acknowledge the love and support they have received from her loving friends Mary Lynch, Isolina Ricciuto , Maria Carcich ,Gabriella Alessandroni as well as many other great friends who were too many to mention. Special thank you to the nurses and staff of Lakeridge Health Oshawa 9 main. Nancy was an active member of the Catholic Women’s League and a God loving woman whose faith sustained her through many difficult times, helped her to always be positive and guided her to treat others with love and kindness. Nancy never met a stranger because as soon as she met someone new, that person was welcomed with open arms. Nancy was blessed with 16 more years because of the kindness and sacrifice of a liver donor. She was a humble person who always put others’ needs and desires before her own. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa with Mass of Christian Burial in St Mary of the People Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday December 20th, 2016 at 11 a.m. Visitation will take place on Monday from 7-9p.m. Prayers at 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations in Nancy’s memory to Pontifical Mission Societies or Toronto General & Toronto Western Foundation-Multi Organ Transplant Program.
