Obituary for Maureen "Rene" Kindree

Maureen "Rene" Kindree
Maureen (Rene) Patricia Kindree May 13, 1947 – August 17, 2017.

Bravely and with a light heart, Maureen passed away surrounded by her family after a short but valiant battle with cancer.

Maureen was a fun-loving woman who lived life to the fullest. Her life was full of happy moments enjoying her many passions like gardening, yoga, cooking, travel, spending time with friends and family and being in nature. As a camp counsellor on Lake Wah Wash Kesh, she met Gary and they later married. Together they had three daughters of whom she was very proud: Tricia, Andrea and Marnie. As a mother she was actively involved and a constant source of support. Maureen was also very proud to be a mother-in-law to Tim, Jeff and Keith and grandmother (Nana) to six grandchildren: Ben and Chloe, Dalton and Maitlin, Tegan and Marin. Her grandchildren meant the world to her and she attended many dance recitals and competitions, snowboard races, hockey games, swim meets, lacrosse matches and school concerts. Her family brought her great joy. She will be fondly remembered by her sisters and brothers Judy (Fred), Carol (David), Doug (Jen), Michael (Evelyn) and Dusty (Vic) as well as her many nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for many things but mostly her caring nature, strength and zest for life.

In keeping with Maureen’s spirit and wishes a Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Trillium Trails Banquet and Conference Centre (53 Snow Ridge Court Oshawa, Ontario). Visitation will take place from 2 to 5 pm with the Celebration service at 5 pm. Reception to follow. If desired, and in lieu of flowers, donations to Hearth Place Cancer Centre would be graciously appreciated.
