MACLEOD, Norman John, CA (May 1, 1931 – May 3, 2016) - Passed peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa surrounded by loved ones after an eight year battle with Leukaemia and Parkinson’s. Dearly missed by his loving wife Carol Doucette MacLeod and children Ian (Jane), Susan (Bill) Hamilton, Alex (Ruby Tonno), Marg (Michael) Buchan, and step-children Dave (Tammy) Doucette, and Denise (George) Reid. Loved by his grandchildren: Ginny (Ben), Simon, Charlie, Jack & Hannah; Brendan, Natalie & Nicholas; Owen, Finlay, Riley & Heidi; Andrew & Emily; Maxwell; Darcy & Kendra. Predeceased by wife Doris and brothers, Donald & Gerry. Survived by sisters in law Marny (Roy) Loach and Ferne McGill. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Norm served the community as a Chartered Accountant for many years and as a Rotarian, Oshawa Rotary Club (Past President), a member of the Oshawa Chamber of Commerce, on the Oshawa Public Library Board (21 years), and an active member of Northminster United Church. Norm proudly served for many years at the Hambly Peewee Hockey Tournament (Later Times Tournament and Rotary Tournament). Sincere thanks to CCAC and Lakeridge Health Oshawa (6C & 5F) where he received the best nursing care. Family and friends may call at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Thursday, May 5th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Celebration of Norman’s Life will be held at Northminster United Church (Simcoe Street and Rossland) on Friday May 6th at 1:00 pm. Reception to follow. Cremation. Memorial donations to Northminster United Church, RS McLaughlin Cancer Centre or the Parkinson Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
