Condolence: Dear Zia Carmela, Lou, Stella and family.
It is with great sadness that we express our deepest sympathy for the loss of your husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle.
Uncle Oreste was the patriarch of our family and we have many found memoiries of his sense of humour, the love for his family and his passion for his hand crafted gatsby hats.
During our recent visits to the hospital he was in good spirts and reminiscent of his life. He mentioned the loss of his mother when he was a young teen and shortly afterwards the loss of his oldest brother in Siberia as a prisoner of WWII.
If you asked him to go for a walk he would tell you his story about walking all the way home from Germany to Italy at the end of WWII.
Despite the dark moments early in his 93 years he enjoyed being a father, he was blessed to see his grand children Lena and Anthony grow to become adults and to have children of their own. He was proud to witness his four great-grandchildren blossom into young women and men.
Uncle Oreste will be missed but not forgotten by his family.
