Gibson, Roy George
Retired from Chapman's Automotive and previously worked for Smith Transport. Born November 30, 1933 in Blackwater ON. Passed on June 19, 2016 in Oshawa ON. at the age of 82. Surrounded by his children, Roy slipped away peacefully after a brief battle with cancer on Father's Day. Loving father to Dave (Phyllis), Janet LeDrew, Susan Sugg, and Steve (Sandra). Predeased by son-in-law Terry LeDrew (2003). Cherished grandfather of Roy, Jacquelynn, Darrel, Mike, Domonique, Josh, Kevin, Tyler, Amber, Damon and Logan. Special great-grandfather of Tori, Kaydince, Jackson, Logan, Alyssa and Reece. Lovingly remembered by his best friend Valery Dugas who held a special place in his heart. Loving brother of Betty Wilson (Dave), Bruce (Cherry), Don (Lynn) and sister-in-laws Dorothy and Marilyn. Predeased by parents Leslie and Marjorie (nee Spencer), siblings Joanie, Joyce and her husband Harvey, Raymond, Kenneth, Howard, Garry and brother-in-law Bill. Roy will be missed by his many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Dad was a special man. He had a loving heart and a quick joke and smile for everyone. He loved telling stories about his life growing up and the early years working as a truck driver. He was a devoted Maple Leafs fan and enjoyed going to watch the Oshawa Generals play. He was devoted to all his family and friends. He enjoyed delivering the paper weekly around to other residents at Faith Place. Known as the paperboy, he will be missed. Resting at Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Wednesday June 22, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. and on Thursday June 23, 2016 at 12, followed by Funeral Service at 1pm in the Chapel.
