Condolence: Hello: I was very sad to hear of Herb passing while at the same time relieved that he was no longer in pain. I spoke with him shortly before he passed and it was apparent in his voice and attitude that he was in agony. Herb and I first met at IBM in the late 1960’s in Edmonton. Over the years, we became good friends and had lots of fun together. I was delighted when Nancy Lott entered Herb’s life some 17 years ago because Nancy is such a kindly, conscientious person that I knew Herb would have someone to care for him as life progressed – and I was right – Nancy was deeply concerned and very caring about Herb right to the end. I’ll miss Herb’s call every year on my birthday, however, I know he is now at peace and out of pain.
