Obituary for Catherine "Kay" Knight (Macguire)

Catherine "Kay" Knight (Macguire)
CATHERINE KNIGHT

KNIGHT, Catherine – With deep sadness, we announce the sudden yet peaceful passing of Catherine Knight. Kay was the beloved wife of the late Frederick Knight. Her constant companion for the past 12 years, Hugh Petersen was by her side at Taunton Mills in Whitby when she quietly passed. Hugh will miss her deeply. His greatest joy was pushing Catherine around in her wheel chair and enjoying their daily activities together.
Catherine will always be loved and remembered by her 3 sons, Victor Curtin of Toronto, Desmond Curtin of Holland Landing and Leslie Curtin of California, and by her 4 grandchildren; Sarah and Christine Curtin (Desmond), Jessie and Dylan (Victor).
Catherine along with her husband Fred established Kay’s Place at 14 Gibbons Street in Oshawa. They both enjoyed meeting their customers and celebration their love of artwork and collector plates for many years. After selling the business Fred and Catherine enjoyed travelling to Ireland visiting with Catherine’s family. As well they enjoyed travelling to Florida in the winter.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Villages of Taunton Mills in Whitby, 2nd floor assisted living for their loving care and support. We greatly appreciated the efforts of everyone to make Kay comfortable in the last few months of her life.
Friends may attend a Memorial Service for Kay at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Friday October 7th at 1pm with visiting from 12:30pm. Burial to take place at Thornton Cemetery.
